We are expecting another Kokomo at 58m to be launched from Alloy yachts soon. The mast is already on the dock waiting to be stepped. It is huge.

Here is a photo taken at 1300hrs today at the Viaduct harbour Auckland New Zealand of the latest boat from Alloy Yachts. It is the 40m Allogante.

Hot news : the latest boat from Alloy Yachts Red Dragon enters the Viaduct Harbour, Auckland.

I know Alloy Yachts and that certainly is not Mondango. It appears to be some "home-build" in an open space rented close to the Alloy Yachts Yard. It also looks about half the size of the 170ft Mondango which is being built in one of Alloy's 8 Building Bays.

A "shorter" SY at Alloy's has not been mentioned anywhere at this point. It would be a scoop.

I doubt if the hull is that big - more like 35-40 metres?

Posted by Velox | 05/20/2007 @ 10:30 | Reply

Given it's still a bare hull, I would guess this is the Dubois 170 ft Mondango to be launched end of 2008. An other Dubois 170 Red Dragon is to be launched at the end of this year and should be in the fitting hall now : http://www.alloyyachts.co.nz/...

Thank you Mark, do you have an idea of the length of the hull?

Some photos of VVS1. Bit of a ugly motoryacht I think.

Posted by Mark | 04/17/2007 @ 11:00 | Reply

VVS1 was launched yesterday 16 April and made her way to the Viaduct for final fitting out today. Photos tomorrow - Greg Marshall design - very much like a small navy ship - dark grey hull colour. Completely different for Alloy - built for a local owner.

Alloy's new motor yacht VVS1 now due out in April - she will be of the explorer type so quite different from their raised pilothouse style yachts of the recent past.

Alloy Yachts fit out barge and workshop have re-appeared at the Viaduct in Auckland which must mean that the new motoryacht VVS1 is due any day now.

Here are some more details and another photo of Como : http://www.bymnews.com/...

Como, same as Ad Lib at first glance.

Posted by Mark | 11/13/2006 @ 19:00 | Reply

Como seemed to have exactly the same colour scheme as Ad Lib. Although from what I could see her interior looks like hotel modern style.

Como was launched yesterday. With her 41 metres, she's the biggest motoryacht built by Alloy Yachts to date. The yacht is moored in Auckland now. More details and pictures soon.

After the 39m SQN, the 40m Ad Lib, Alloy announces the name of the future 41m. She will be christened Como.

Attached are some photos of Kokomo having her mast stepped and boom attached as well as moving to her final commissioning berth in the Viaduct. Very low and sleek in design with five very large window portholes on each side of the hull aft for the owner and guest staterooms.
