I walked near the Oceanco's Shipyard last week. The new Y705 and Vibrant Curiosity were docked, Y705 waiting to be finished. I couldn't get close enough to see the details.

New Oceanco Anastasia just arrived this morning in IYCA at the end of the harbour, at Kingdom 5KR normally space. Very impressive vessel and several staff from Oceanco were here to check something on the boat.

About the post of 03/28/2007, yes, the Y705 looks like a further development of Bjorn Johansson's Mirage concept. I remember reading about Mirage in a magazine (BI?) a while ago, but cannot seem to find the article now. Can anybody help me out? And are there any news on the progress on Y705?

According to a German yacht magazine the keel of 706 was laid at Zwijenburg some weeks ago.

Her name is Alfa Nero. May we establish a link with the Oceanco and Benetti Alfa's ?

Thank you Asder, a scoop for me. A couple of them knew that the successor of Amevi was under construction somewhere, but I didn't imagine this project...

On http://www.tonistasworld.blogspot.com, scroll down a bit, until you see Y701, it says : "in September will be the launch of the y701 Amevi at the Shipyard Oceanco Alblasserdam. I hope to make new pictures and a small movie."

You can see some pics with the name and some very nice construction pics on : http://www.tonistasworld.blogspot.com/... (again, scroll down a bit).

Al Mirqab was anchored off Portofino yesterday night, no change of name yet.

It seems that Al Mirqab was sold few weeks go, even if there is no official report about that... The yacht left Palma a couple of days ago. Do you have an idea of her destination? A possible refit? And do you have an idea of a possible new name...

Oceanco are announcing the contract for an 82 metre yacht to be launched in summer 2007 (that is quick!). The yacht, code named as Y-702, will be designed by Nuvolari & Lenard. She will accommodate 12 guests and 28 crew. Her top speed will be 18.5 knots, courtesy of two MTU diesels of 4,680hp each. For more, look at http://www.megayacht.com/...

If you visit oceAnco's site, on the "in build" section you will find some interesting pictures of the project Y701. It is an 80m yacht, with quite nice lines for a yacht of its size, and scheduled for delivery during the autumn of 2006.

If you check some of the photos, you will see in one of them the Greek flag. So does this mean that project Y701 is the successor of Alpha Four? It is a very reasonable scenario since the (ex, since it was sold) owner of Alpha Four is also the owner of Oceanco. So, would he go somewhere else to buy a yacht rather than build it in his own yard? Probably not...
