Thanks to partly recessed tenders, fore bulwark shape and raised floor inside the wheelhouse, visibility is not a problem. But in heavy seas, strong and efficient wipers are requested... As far as the general arrangement is concerned, a small one is visible at the website of Nigel Burgess.

It seems that the final decision is not definitive. It's possible that this yard will launch another yacht in the future. One thing is sure, it will be under another name since the sale of the yard. So forever Kogo will be the only Alstom yacht. About the visibility I remark that another famous yacht has the same configuration, it's Coral Island. It could be interesting to have the opinion of their captains.

As highlighted elsewhere Kogo is this month?s feature yacht in Boat International ? no GA plan unfortunately. From the article it appears that Alstom lost a considerable amount of money on her build and that the yards new Finnish owners are reconsidering if they will bid again for yacht work. So she may be a one off? She is a very impressive vessel but like other contributors I would be concerned about short range visibility from her low bridge ? particularly with 2 tenders placed in front of the wheelhouse also limiting the view out.

It looks to me that the view from the bridge could be compromised by the height of the tenders stored on the foredeck. It looks like those tenders could obstruct the view. What do you think? From the pictures in the last Boat International, in the Broker pages, we can imagine there will be an on board article and a brochure.

Now Kogo is ready for an imminent departure. Her design is beautiful. Yesterday there was many activity on board. It seems that there was a fire training with the crew (see pictures). We can imagine that the yacht will be in Cannes for the Film Festival...

For all those years that I have been following this industry, I?ve always had difficulties understanding these things : Alstom delivers a brand new yacht and what?s the first thing she does : she goes straight to another yard for a paint job !!??

Kogo is indeed in Marseille. As you can see it on the picture (sorry for the bad quality), she's in a drydock. Her superstructure is covered for a paint job (see red arrow). I will go back to take good pictures by a couple of days.

Good news concerning the 72-meters Kogo built by Alstom in Lorient, Brittany. She left the harbour yesterday and is going to Marseille for last works of paintings and will be delivered to her owner at the end of March.
