Anyone got pics of P55 on the water yesterday (22.12.08)?

About Destriero, yes that is her in the background of the picture, unfortunately she is quite well hidden so getting a picture is difficult. She has been there for years and is covered in moss ect. now, a sad end for such a fast yacht! Kalamoun is moored next to her. If you cut and paste these coordinates in to Google Earth 50°22'48.09"N,
4°11'2.35"W this will take to directly to the Destriero and the Kalamoun. Next time the Dockyard has an open day I will take a picture, I have no idea though when that will be...

Do we see Destriero at the very left corner of this picture? If yes, can you see Kalamoun next to her and maybe take apicture of her? Thanks in advance.

Alamshar continued her sea trials again and this time I got some pictures. She was stationary in the river for a few minutes and then opened her throttles just as the picture was taken, quite impressive!

Latest news from Devonport :

- Alamshar did not sail on Thursday but went out on Friday at about midday (I missed it!!), she returned at 21:30 GMT after dark so sorry no pics, she has not moved today.

Further information, anybody is local to Plymouth. She can be seen clearly from the Torpoint ferry, which is free to walking passengers and a great platform for photographs. She is due to go to sea tomorrow at 09:00 BST and return at 16:30 BST and on Tuesday she is due to leave at 08:00 BST and return at 19:00 BST.

Devonport yachts are anouncing the availability for Project One-Ten, which is a high-volume 108 metre yacht designed by Redman Whitely Dixon. It is planned to be delivered by 2011. More on their website : http://www.devonportyachts.com/...

Now Project 54 is outside the shed (with its name on), anybody in that area with a camera? I understand it's fairly visible from the ferry port...

Here is a newer picture of Alamshar, sent by a British spotter. Thanks to him. I also added the card of the yacht, made of a couple of conjectures for the moment : http://www.yachtspotter.com...

Talking about launches at Devonport, they have also launched a new website : www.devonportyachts.com. As they are stressing that they guarantee confidentiality, there is not a whole lot of information, and certainly not anything about 305.

Among the information which actually can be found at the website is that the new 96 metre yacht called "Project 55" will be designed by Redman Whitely Dixon (exterior and crew areas) and the interior will be designed by Rémi Tessier. Other than that, they live up to their funny slogan "Devonport - responsible for some of the least known vessels ever produced".

That will be hard to chose an official launch date for this yacht !!

Good to see the end of this story, after this long period of construction. We were the first to publish a picture of the P305 in 2003 (see picture). Some thought that it was a fake... Now she's on way to be delivered and we know her name, Alamshar.

Another picture of the Project 54. Her construction has already started in the shed of Devonport. Her design is from Andrew Winch, with a length of 82 metres.

A spotter in Plymouth reported us a fire during the sea trials of the Project 305. The fire was in the engine room. He said : "Project 305 suffered major fire during full speed trials on Wed 02-Aug-06 which will delay the delivery of this mythical yacht. The fire and subsequent tow back to Devonport was covered by both the Plymouth Herald and the local BBC television news team."

We were the first to publish a picture of this project when she was moored out of the yard some years ago (I will post it again). An impressive yacht that will have without doubt the "longest construction process" award when she will be delivered! We can imagine that she is in the shipyard since five years now, at least...

Have a look on this article too : http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/...

Many thanks to an English spotter for this picture of Samar, formerly known under the project name Lana. The yacht is still under sea trials and should be delivered to her owner in April.
