Yes, they have a resemblance to the Mondomarine yachts, but in my opinon the 47 m one is more similar to something which could come out from the sheds at Heesen. It is obviously a style which Cor D. Rover has been asked to replicate for various yachts.

I think this is nearly the same design/layout/yacht as offered by Mondomarine.

Dutch Yacht Builders have a couple of very interesting motoryachts in build, both designed by Cor D. Rover.

One of 43 metres : http://dutchyachtbuilders...
And the other one of 47 metres : http://dutchyachtbuilders...
In addition to those, there is also a 35 metre sailing yacht in classic style under construction : http://dutchyachtbuilders...

This is obviously a yard which we should keep an eye on!

There is a news item in Boat International January 2006 (p. 29) about Marflow which confirms much of what we already know or have guessed. It also says that Pieter Beeldsnijder has done some of the exterior remodelling, and Andre Hoek is responsible for the new mahogany interior and the new sail plan and rigging.

Thanks to the help of Johan and Leveller, now there is no doubt that Marflow is the former Ora. This refit seems to be really beautiful, and we can see a lot of modifications : now the yacht is a sloop (she was a ketch), the stern was lengthened, the wheelhouse is enclosed, the height (on the side) of the hull is higher, some portholes in the hull, new anchors... And we can imagine a new layout and a new decoration. Her card is updated, and any revision following the refit is welcome : http://www.yachtspotter.com...

I can give you the confirmation that Marflow was built 1982 at Shore Boatbuilders, Richmond BC, Canada. Her designer is William Garden.

Really interesting. I found this article, and to be honest, I didn't understand it. Dutch is not an easy language. So she could be the former Ora, lately known under the name Act IV if I have good memory.

That is about the (re)launch of Marflow. It says it is a restoration.

I am quite certain that this is the old Ora.

The lines of this yacht look very much like the work of William Garden perhaps an adaptation of this designs for Shalimar built at Stephens and Chanel built at Alloy. There was another vessel called Ora built by Shore Boat Builders in Vancouver that would be almost identical to this design. I am looking at Bill Garden's book "Yacht Designs 2" his Plan 660 and there is a very strong resemblance.

Thank you very much for this picture. This is the first profile of Marflow that I see. She looks elegant. She was launched in July 2006 by Dutch Yacht Builders in Enkhuizen, Holland. Her length is 38 metres. But excepting that I found no more details about her. Was she under completion or refit at Balk Shipyard? I invite you to share more specifications with us!

Yesterday I spotted Marflow (38m) at Shipyard Balk in Urk, The Netherlands. She has been under repair in the yard.
