Sure it helps, thanks. Ocean Concept is not an Italian yard but a Turkish one. This project was delayed, she was originally due in 2007. Dimensions : 42.0x8.5x2.2m. And the design is from Marcelo Penna!

I remember seeing a yacht like this of 42m on ABYacht brokers for 10M USD but it was I believe 2006 and 20 months to build at Ocean Concept Yacht Builders of Genoa. I don't know if is the same. Hope this helps some...

Here is a little mystery for me, I spotted this yacht recently, she was far from the coast and I didn't find time to search details about her since... Her name is Elisea Nova. And according to the type written on the side, she has a length of 42 metres. Any information is welcome! Thanks.

This is the Tamarind, a 32m motor yacht built back in 1958 by R. Newman & Sons of Poole in England to the design of Frederick R. Parker. He was well known at that time for designing many large yachts from British yards. Tamarind (that is her original name) has not changed at all throughout the years. Even the rigid "sunshade" over the wheelhouse was there in 1966. I think the yacht was sold to Brazil in the mid 1960s but has been in private use until now.

The yacht at Derecktor is the M/Y At Last. The vessel has been in the yard for over 2 years working on a full refit.

Here is an interesting yacht that I spotted just after the FLIBS. This yacht was in a shed at the Derecktor yard, and it was impossible to have a better photo. I think it's the Heesen At Last. The yacht was under refit during a very long time (about 20 months). If it's the case, it was an extensive refit with an alteration of the design. The wheelhouse seems different, the foredeck, the paintjob, and we can imagine many other details hidden by the shed. Any detail is welcome!

Ciao Bella is a Poole, built in Chula Vista, CA, aluminum. Originally designed by Bannenberg as an 88 ft. Has Detroit 1292's, or at least did. Been transatlantic at least two times on its own bottom. Ran on one engine. Stretched and restyled later, not my taste...

Indeed, she was Bobbara at her launch.

Posted by Hart | 11/12/2008 @ 09:00 | Reply

She was in St. Thomas, at Yacht Haven during the early 80's quite often. She was called Bobbara or something like that. She had a beautiful sunroof like that found on automobiles over the master bed. I toured her once when she was available for charter. I believe her owners were from California. She then disappeared for awhile and came back more as an expedition yacht. One of the hurricanes here in Palm Beach washed her (and the then Ivana completely up onto the lawn of one of the mansions on North Lake Way).

I'm trying to find the out more about a yacht being built in or around Bodrum/Turkey at the moment. It appears to be being fitted out in the water at the moment. Its an expedition style yacht with a deep grey hull and a white superstructure and is probably about 35 metres in length. There appears to be 3 vertical windows below the bridge and 4 vertical windows where I would assume the owners suite to be. There is a boat crane located on the aft bridge deck. I can see what appears to be part if not all of a name and that is Masha. Any help would be appreciated.

According to a reliable source, Antithesis could be either two of the Planet 110S that remain a mystery for spotters since many years (hull no. 107 built in 2003 or hull no. 112 built in 2005). Both were supposed to be in Asia but it's possible that information is incorrect...

I know Sultana well. Recently saw her at the yard in Beaulieu-sur-Mer where she was undergoing a rebuild with a new wheelhouse structure. Work stopped last year and it looks as though the yacht is heading to another location for finishing. You will probably remember her as Peer Gynt of 25,82m built by de Vries in 1969 and always berthed in Antibes. Your photo shows how the wheelhouse has been redesigned.

Unfortunately I made an incorrect identification of Sullivan Bay. My apologies for that. Vagance is of course correct with his interesting hstory of the yacht. I would add however that the last name was Natica - not Nautica.

Posted by Vagance | 04/26/2008 @ 16:35 | Reply

The vessel Sullivan Bay is a 1993 Michigan built Broward 20 ft. beam series raised pilot house motor yacht. It was originally a 102 ft. model and had been stretched to 108 ft. by the addition of the fishing cockpit. It was taken to the Ft.Lauderdale with the name of "Victory Lane 108" and put into a limited charter service. The vessel was sold as a "new boat" to an unsuspecting mexican and renamed "Paulina Dos". The vessel was based out of La Paz, Baja California. Due being heavily damaged after being rammed by a shrimper and was taken to Knight and Carver in San Diego Ca to be repaired. During the time the vessel was being repaired, the US Government seized the boat due to alleged connections to a Mexican drug cartel king pin. The vessel was sold at auction and renamed "Nautica" The Broward spec. boats of Sullivan Bay's era sometimes were not put together too well. This yacht was sold with a problems with the fuel tanks. The forward fuel tank would "auto transfer" to the day tank. This yacht was fast and very good in a sea way.

The Sullivan Bay is the former Gemini Lady completed in 1994 and 100.5 ft (not 110). The yacht was built with the fishing cockpit and has not been lengthened.

Regarding AB-7, this yacht was built in 1976 by Whiteman at Chula Vista, California and is now 111,0 ft (33,83m). Lengthened 15 ft. by Derecktor at Dania in 1999. Original Name was Sun Dream, then Triumphant Lady, Tomorrow's Wish, Four Lads and now AB-7. Engines are twin 650 hp GMs, maximum speed 14,0 knots and cruising 12,0 knots. Aluminium hull and superstructure. Designer Ed Monk Jr. & Todd Chaffee. Interior for 8/10 guests and 5 crew by Dee Robinson.

She looks like Titian; L 96'10", B 21'10", D 5'6", launched by Burger June 7, 1966. She is a Jack Hargrave design, powered with twin Cat D-343's. There are two sisters built to this design, Shangri-La, launched in 1970 for a San Diego yachtsman, and Buckpasser of 1973 (later Chanticleer), originally 99 feet long.

Gil, Yachtspotter and Kootenay, thanks so much for the info on Polar Bear! I've been looking everywhere for info on her since she has been here in Victoria for a while. Luckily I happened to own the copy of Boat International she is in. Like other ABD yachts, she is extremely bulky (for a 93 footer, she displaces 208 tons!) which gives the impression she is a lot bigger than she is.

Albert, that's a rarely seen yacht you've come across. It has always been in Far Eastern waters since it was launched in 1984. Built by the King Yacht Corp. in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Vie Sans Souci is 39,87m/130,8ft in length and is built of steel. She is owned by an owner from Thailand and flies the that country's flag.

The yacht was originally named Ocean Commander and is equipped with three General Motors (Detroit Diesel) engines of 1030kW each. Maximum speed is 18 knots and she cruises at 16. I have only seen a couple of small photos of the yacht. Did you manage to take any?

The Belle Amie is in fact a dinner charter vessel that indeed looks very much like a private yacht. Built in 2005 by a commercial yard in New Orleans, Louisiana she is 135 ft. overall, steel and is owned by the Charter Connection Corp. of San Diego CA. There are many commercial vessels of "private yacht" appearance including dinner charter vessels, dive charter vessels and small cruise ships. It can be confusing at times!

- the Akhir at Fontvieille is, as you say, Nou Nou IV. Her present name is Vanya
- Picasso was launched as Willaway in 1989 by Broward Marine and is 28,04m/92,0ft
- Out of the Bleau is a Hatteras 92 Elite (28,3m/92,8ft) launched in 2000
- Ohana is definitely the former Lara Jane, originally launched as Amante
- Chahsevar was built in 1936 by Boele's Scheepsweven en Machinefabriek BV, Bolnes, Netherlands for the Shah of Iran. Designer H. W. de Voogt. Length 54,32m/178,2ft. Last reported in poor condition as a yacht at Bandar Abbas, Iran in 1984. Later refitted and converted to a naval training vessel in 1993 and renamed Hamzeh.
- La Mer is a Turkish built gulet but I don't know any further details at the moment

No doubt that the Baglietto is Pia (supposed to be renamed Ilios now). Fontvieille was her home port during many years. I have no idea about the Akhir. As Ilios has a length of 36 metres, we can imagine that the Akhir has a LOA of approx. 33 metres... Maybe the former Nou Nou IV, but I don't know her current name.

I am not certain but I believe Richard Hein (later of Oceanco) may have designed this yacht. He was a staff designer at Broward prior to moving to Monaco. My clues are a slightly more refined set of details within the classic Broward look. This would also be in the period when Kit Denison had gone out on his own taking at least two of the long term senior designers at Broward to Denison Yachts (Langlois and Nadeau).

Merijn, I just found this information yesterday. Anastasia is the former Murphy's Law (originally Janet) built in 1987 by Broward Marine's Fort Lauderdale yard. Alla, the much altered sister yacht was originally Mayacca also built in 1987 but in their Saugatuck, Michigan yard. A correction to the original post has been added on the Yachtmati site.

Good feeling! Note that Victory Lane is supposed to be 121 feet. But you can see on the movie sent by Ken that her stern was slightly lengthened : http://www.splashvision.com/... And the new LOA could be approx. 125 ft now!

The mystery of Costa Brava III has me looking around to find out what her old name was. I was looking a the picture taken by Capt Tom and I think that she may be the Victory Lane (ex Inventorio). Hopefully someone will get a picture of her in Gustavia before she leaves for South America and we are left hanging. Capt Tom do you have some information or a bigger picture?

In the Nov 2007 issue of Triton pg A22 they mention a Costa Brava III as being a 125 ft Palmer & Johnson but unfortunately no year or ex names. Now to figure out which P&J she is !!!

Another news could prove that a Costa Brava III exists... It seems that the former yacht, the Costa Brava II, was recently renamed Taka Taka III. This sale could prove that the owners have already chosen a successor...

Another mystery is partially solved. Ken (message from 08/18/2007) spotted a yacht named "Out of the Bleu". The real name of this yacht is "Out of the Bleau". She's an Hatteras 100, spotted by Dug, as you can see on his pictures, taken in March near Anguilla. Thanks to him for his help in this search. Some questions remain, is it a new hull, or just a new name, her launch date, etc...

Very interesting, these 103 are rarely spotted, a surprise because there are nearly 5 hulls like that in the World. About this series, the first hulls have no sundeck above the wheelhouse, and Ivory Lady has her stern door on the left side, not in the middle. So Ohana could be the former Lara Jane... De Voogt designed a yacht for the Shah of Iran in the 1930s. The name was Shasavar or maybe Chasavar. I think the yard that built her was called "Bolnes" if memory is correct. She was ca 52 mts long and very modern for the time beeing. I googled this boat and it seems she is lying in New Jersey in the USA...

However this does not look like the actual boat, does anyone know if he had more than one vessel? Does anyone have a clue? Or pictures of the actual boats? Just found this picture : http://bp0.blogger.com/...

I'm searching information about this gulet named La Mer. Her length is approx. 30 metres. She's painted in the same grey than the Baglietto Chato. And she was spotted with Chato at the Varrazze yard of Baglietto (in March). Maybe there is a link between these two yachts. La Mer was also spotted during the summer off Capri.

I can't offer specific history of this vessel though built by Westport she may be one of the earlier series marketed as Westship. They were built at 106', 108' then 112'. At a point in time the agreement with Herb Postma (Westship) lapsed and Westport began marketing the series directly. This version is styled by Jack Sarin (also NA of the series).

The design of the yacht in Rapallo's harbor looks like it came from Jack Hargrave's office in West Palm Beach - maybe in the 1970's. My guess of her length is 95 to 100 feet. She looks like something Burger could have built, but I have never seen any previous images published in US media, including Burger's Yard News. She may have been built in a European yard. It would be interesting to know more of her history.

Cavu is an S&S design and was 2nd to last boat built at Stephens in Stockton, CA. Her build name was Osprey and was built for the Baldwin family from South California and was purposely built to accomodate a large tender on her aft deck, which along with the compressors, etc directly below, allowed for a two year around the world diving adventure for the family... I know because I was involved in the previous build at Stephens and later visited the boat when at Porto Cervo.

About Beatriz of Bolivia (see picture), maybe the right question is : a sister ship or not?

There is a kind of sister ship of Beatriz of Bolivia (C&N 1963) built in 1966 by Globe (Capetown/South Africa) on the design of C&N. The main difference is in the design of the superstructures which are easy to see between the photos I join. There is a small superstructure on the main deck before the main superstructures. The name was Piropo (in the 1990) and if my memory is right the original name was Criniera d’Oro.

The yacht on the picture is the Camper & Nicholsons Diana built in 1963. She was also named Beatriz of Bolivia, and I think that she was renamed Diana again. I don't know if she was named Lady Kring, but I know that she sailed the Philippines (and Lady Kring was supposed to be in Manila...). I don't think that C&N produced a sister.

Today I looked at a picture of the yacht that burned down in Manilla, and it turns out not to be the yacht below (many differences in the superstructure). This means either the yacht that burned down in Manilla was not the Lady Kring, or it was the Lady Kring, and the yacht on the picture in the previous post was never called Lady Kring. One thing is for sure, the yacht in the picture was at one time Beatriz of Bolivia. Who can solve this mystery?

No doubt Maarten, it's the same yacht. She's at IMS since a long time now, at least one year and half. Still at the same place, still in the same condition. I didn't see an activity on board, a pity because she could be a nice refit project.

This yacht was also known under the name Diana. Her upper deck was modified during a former refit in 1996 or 2003. Her dimensions are 36.6 mt x 6.1 mt x 2.45 mt. She could accommodate 8 guests and 7 crew members, reaching 14 knots with her two 403kW CAT diesels. It seems that she originally belonged to Cunard Chairman Sir Nigel Broakes and was based in Antibes for most of the Eighties.

You can find a small picture here : http://www.yachtworld.com/...

Can anyone identify this vessel? I am almost sure it must be Lady Kring (36m, Camper and Nicholson from 1963). I looked up her brochure of the time she was called Beatriz of Bolivia (mid-eighties), and at that time the overhang aft on her bridgedeck wasn't quite so large, but it could have been added at a later stage. Also the maindeck at that time was a bit shorter from what I can tell from the photos in the brochure.

Lady Kring was badly damaged in a fire in Manilla in 2004, see http://www.yachtspotter.com/...
She is currently at IMS, but I am not sure if she is being rebuild, or if they are stripping her.

I don't think these two yachts are the same vessel, for one the vessel on webshots has full walkaround sidedecks on the main deck level, and the yacht in the second link had a full beam section. The way the aft deck is constructed also looks different. Touch Wood also has a strange bent in her top deck, which the other yacht does not have. If they are in fact the same yacht, it must have had a major refit, including a new superstructure...

I also thought about that. Thank you Merijn to have find again the link. The problem is that we have the same difficulties to find some details about Touch Wood...

Merijn, I find again your sail yacht after a long search in my old mags. She is a 92ft built by Sangermani in 1998. Her design is from Bruce Farr. Few years ago she was named Desirade, and it seems that she's still known under that name. Link : http://www.cnconnect.com/...

Thank you Johan for "Tioni" (we're still searching her exact name...), she's a Monte Fino 106ft.

- Yachtspotter, I believe Tioni is built either by Monte Fino or Elegance yachts and is 110-120 ft long
- Scope, I think the yacht in the Superports is built by NQEA, probably around 110 ft. She is possibly a Hargrave design

Thank you Ted. You find her! No doubt when I compare Maria II to the picture that you added to your email. I can't publish it for copyright reasons. She had a lot of modifications during her conversion : aft decks, a bathing-platform, the crane, cosmetic details, and we can imagine that she has also new accommodations. I'm curious to know where this refit took place...

About Maria II, I think she was the Heitee advertised on yachtbrokers-int.com whose details were :

"39m60 x 8m20 x 3m70. Built in 1966 by Port Weller Dry Docks, Canada as Canadian Fisheries Research Vessel. Ice strengthened. 1 x 600 hp Burmeister Wain main engine giving a maximum speed of up to 12 knots with an approximate range of 5000 n.m. 3 x 192 Kw generators (one out of commission and being used as spares). Passive stability system (works at anchor as well). Used to accommodate 13 crew and 6 scientists. New design developed for 12 guests and 7 crew but present owner lost interest. Some lower accommodation areas already stripped. Made voyage from Canada to UK in 2001 "as is" after overhaul of main engine, shaft and props whilst ashore in Canada. Now lying UK and ready to make any reasonable voyage, only needing update of safety equipment."

Yes Maarten, she's O'Asis, the smaller yacht of the Golden Yachts (O'Mega, O'Ceanis, O'Pari, etc...). She was launched in 1993 under the name Opus. She had a white hull at that time, and she was a real open. Her cockpit was covered by an hard-top after a refit in 2003. During this refit her accommodation was also changed. I do not think Skylge ever left Europe too. On her outward trip she put into Brest with a gooseneck or mast track problem, and to make things worse had a rather bumpy coming into the harbour, and a tough encounter with a moored customs launch! I think that she sailed back to the yard...

A 43m (new length) Camper & Nicholsons MY built in 1978 should be under refit somewhere around Amsterdam according to Yacht Design (n.5-2005). The refit is overseen by Navirex of Genova. Harmony Bay's layout was great for charter. The main deck was one level from the passerrail thru to the fwd end of the owners cabin. Large aft deck, two door entrance, port into the saloon and stb into the crew mess. From the crew mess fwd to the galley, aft down stairs to the engine room and two crew cabins. Saloon was an l shape with dinning table aft opposite the gally, fwd too lounge where she was full width. Fwd of this was owners suite. Downstairs was 4 doubles and a laundry room fwd. No internal access to bridge, had to go up from aft deck. Tenders were 18 ft boston whaler and a rib, 2 man sub and jet skisand a lazer. Nice ship like bridge and captains cabin behind. Great jacuzzi behind bridge. Had 40000 liters of fuel so had just on a 7000 mile range at 9.5 kts.

My humble knowledge on the ex-Harmony Bay is merely a compilation of what I have read about her, but I like her for her lines and "shippy" appearance, that's why the facts stuck to my memory. Mike9, as you must have more intimate knowledge on her, could you perhaps tell me what the layout looked like? I guess it is not kept a secret since she is a bit old and has been up for charter in the past. Considering her full beam main deck, I guess her layout is somewhat atypical. Thanks.

Confirmed. Solemates is now Ostar.

The Royal Princess was built in 1969 by Martinolich at Tacoma WA. Length is 155 ft. with a passenger capacity of 300. Current owner is Koma Equipment Leasing Co. of Juneau AK. Formerly operated by Royal Princess Cruises. Result, if you go to http://www.yachtworld.com/... you will find a good description and photos under the broker Hawaii yachts.

Sandrita was sold to an African ambassador to the UN and was last reported 10 years ago in Mozambique. I presume that the yacht is still based down there although probably under a different name and owner.

I have also wondered what happened to the ex-Harmony Bay. She was a pretty little ship, 101 ft long, powered by two MAN diesels of 350 hp each and built by C.N. Pesaro in 1981. She was refitted by Baglietto and given a new interior with glossy woods in the 1990s if my memory serves me right. In the early 90s she was on the cover of Boat International with a hot air ballon being prepared for take-off.

A vessel approximately 140' in a Vancouver shipyard by name of "Royal Princess"... Would appear to be older narrow beam boat converted to "dinner boat" commercial purposes. Any ideas out there as to her origins.

There is a yacht of 40m named Simone in the port of Miami today. Do you know her? The Heesen Princess H is also in the port... could it be her new name?

I find new details about Patriot I. As we thought she's not a megayacht. Her length is 92ft / 28m. Her yard is Keith Lloyds Ships, Kangaroo Point, Australia (!?). It seems that she was the first hull and maybe the unic model of this series. Her hull is in aluminium, with two engines 1343kW MTU 2000M90. She was delivered in 2004.

Patriot is owned by a well known Perth citizen. He purchased the yacht from an owner in Queensland AUS. For Perth standards it is probably the biggest, best and most expensive yacht going around apart from a couple of 80ft Sunseekers.

The purchase made headlines in Perth, one for the shear size and cost of the boat, and two because there was alot of discussion over the size of the boat and the mooring it uses at Rottnest Island (an island about 20km off the coast). There was some speculation that there was some preferential treatment given to the owner.

You have to remember boats of this size are not common in Perth. I will try and find the news articles.

Gil sent us this picture taken in Fremantle, Australia a couple of days ago. This yacht is named Patriot I. On her sides you can also read "DC375". Do you know more about this yacht? I'm not sure that her length is over 30m...

Is there anyone who has a drawing of the 54m Seagull I? Seagull I is a reconstruction of the Vladimir Nazor, which was built in 1952 by Uljanik Shipyard. The rebuilding of the yacht is currently under progress at the Trogir Shipyard in Croatia and she should be completed by the end of the year.

De Contessa II was originally launched as Gentle Breeze and later named Free Spirit. Built by Lowland Yachts of Zoeterwoude in 1989, this vessel had her stern modified - adding 1 metre - some time in the past. Nowadays her LOA is 30.00m.

Do you know the pedigree of the Lowland De Contessa II? Her previous names? The yacht is always berthed in Antibes, France. According to some brokers (because the yacht is for sale) she has a length of 30m. Was she lengthened?

Do you know a sail yacht named QS Atlantic? She's a ketch. Dark hull. Design from the Eighties. I find the length of 103ft, but I think that it's without her bowsprint. She's cruising in Caribbean. She was also in Caribbean one year ago. So it's not a new name...

Camellia II was originally built in 1962 by Austin & Pickersgill of Sunderland, UK to a Frederick Parker design. Length is 32.0m and engines are twin Gardner diesels.

Later names are as follows - Gavilan; Sovereignty; Kamelia; Camellia of Japan; Riviera.

The yacht ended up virtually abandoned in Flisvos Marina in 1999. Camellia II's hull is unchanged but her superstructure appears to be totally different. I assume that the yacht was rebuilt in Greece during the last two or three years.

Willawake send me a picture of this yacht. For the moment I find nothing about her. Her name is Camellia II. I think that her length is over 30 metres. Any idea?
