Following last year's spectacular performance, the Royal Air Force Red Arrows will again give a dramatic 30 minute display of airborne precision and excellence, during the 2009 Monaco Yacht Show.

The display has been organised by Superyacht UK, supported by gold sponsors such as Pendennis, and will take place off the Outer Breakwater at 14.30 on 24th September 2009.

Yacht Carbon Offset is pleased to be among the sponsors of this event and to have certified a Carbon Offset to balance the estimated greenhouse gas emissions from the aircraft during the display.

Mark Robinson of Yacht Carbon Offset said: "The Red Arrows always give an exhilarating display. They show confidence, expertise, grace and perfect timing. I'm really looking forward to their performance at the Monaco Yacht Show. We are delighted to support the team at Superyacht UK that has made it possible."

And the star of "les Régates" was the last French three masted barque, the Belem. It was possible to visit her, and it will be still possible to do it this Sunday thanks to "les journées du patrimoine" (an annual free opening of all the French monuments). "Les Régates de Nice" are back to life. The first edition of this regatta was in 1879. For the first edition of this new version some great yachts sailed like Creole (with Avel), Zaca, Puritan, Sunshine, Tuiga, and many smaller ones. On the picture, you can see Zaca and Sunshine at the end of the last regatta today.

A little summary about the first edition of the AYS. 21 yachts of 30 metres and more were presented. In general, the opinion was good. On professional side, some of them confessed me that it was a bit quiet. On visitor side, in a way it reminds us the first edition of the MYS. Less people on the piers, easier to have an access on the yachts. So a good point. But it was a bad idea to organize it at the same time than the Salon Antiquités-Brocante.
After 10:00AM it was very hard to park a car...

Another good point is the place of the show. The former Chantier Naval Opera is very nice spot since her recent restoration. And the size of the IYCA gives the possibility to accommodate more yachts in the future. The future...
It seems that a second edition is already scheduled in April 2008, but this time two weeks later.

Great Show. Some good looking yachts. The show was stolen surely by Maltese Falcon. Oh those Turks... Pity about extremely limited access to Laurel, also looking very shapely and sharp, not Delta's fault it seems. The owners imposed severe limitations on viewers which must have been very frustrating for Delta.
