The Polish yard that built Kay originally, seems to have built a sister ship which is now named Igor Farkhutdinov which is operating in the Russian far east. I haven't been able to find any pictures of her.

In my opinion, Kay is somewhat of an anachronism as her lines are more 1960s than 1990s. But that is no criticism whatsoever, as I think she has pretty lines.

The designer Cor D Rover, who is involved in the project, said in an interview recently in Yachts International that he could confirm that he was involved in a 400 foot refit project, but could not give any details. So, I guess more information will be hard to come by.

Naval architect Robert McFarlane is obviously involved in project Kay as well : http://www.mcfarlane-shipdesign...

Nice lines indeed. Here is one more picture of her, this time at the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore : http://www.shipspotting.com/...

Yes Lars, it's the project Kay, designed by Cor D. Rover some years ago. The project began in Asia. It was canceled. I received some pictures of the hull moored in an Asian harbour last year, but I was not authorized to post them online.

Your links are very interesting. This arrival in Europe seems to prove that the project should be finished. But I have no more information for the moment.

Years ago, rumours were going around of a former Russian icebreaker being lengthened and converted into a yacht in a shipyard in Singapore. The project name was Kay. I never heard or saw anything more. Then I saw these pictures on www.shipspotting.com :

Could this be the yacht? The person who posted the photos thinks it's a passengership. In my opinion the superstructure is to elegant and "curvy"; it would cost to much if this was a commercial enterprise. I think we are looking at another 100+ meter yacht.
