By Yachtspotter.

Montkaj is undoubtly one of the most secretive yachts and this splendid Amels is one of the largest produced by Dutch shipyards. Once again, the shipyard never published anything about her, following the wishes of her owner. Some details are nevertheless known. First of all, we know that Montkaj was returned to the shipyard, few years after her launch, to undergo an extension of her stern. Thus the megayacht gained a few meters and her general design is more elegant and better proportioned as a result. This refit was realised impeccably, since it is completely undetectable.

As it is impossible to know in great detail the installation of Montkaj what follows is mainly conjecture. The lower deck should contain a lazarette opening onto the bathing-platform (aft), followed by six guest staterooms (deducible thanks to the number of portholes), the engine room (to the center), and the crew quarters (forward). The main deck should accommodate various lounges and dining room (aft and center), a part of the owner's suite, and an atypical garage for the tenders (forward). The second deck should accommodate other lounges (aft and center) and the second part of the owner's suite (forward). The third deck should accommodate a panoramic lounge (aft), the captain's stateroom (to the center), and the pilothouse (forward). The sundeck accommodates a helipad (aft), a Jacuzzi, a bar (to the center), and a solarium (forward).

In the previous paragraph you almost certainly noticed that the owner's suite is distributed over two decks. It is the only known part of the installation. This duplex should certainly have the same provisions of the owner's suite in L?rssen?s Phoenix. Thus we suppose that the upper part contains a panoramic lounge, and the lower part contains the entrance, office, bedroom and bathrooms. With regard to the garage for the tenders, it is quite unique. A very large platform is raised on the foredeck level and a crane is able to extract the tenders and launch them. The operation is very impressive and this simple solution is ideal to preserve the lines of the yacht. At night, Montkaj is a jewel : her fiber optic lightning is wonderful. A spectacle not to be missed without pretexts!
