Amazon Express is certainly one of the most discrete yachts forming part of World Top 100 megayachts. Launched under the name Albacora in 1966, this vessel was intended for deep sea fishing and had a long career of eighteen years. In 1984, the Norwegian shipyard Horten carried out a comprehensive conversion and consequently this megayacht sailed in various seas of the world under the name of Kisuca. She changed hands after ten years. Other modifications then took place.

The second refit was done at her original shipyard - in Venice, Italy. The shipyard carried out other external modifications under the direction of Espen Øino. The interior decoration changed too. Her Italian owner decided to give her one of her old names again : Amazon Express. Her design is completely atypical. We well recognize Øino's touch with the gray color of her hull and her superstructures. This designer has most recently associated with Lürssen?s Skat and many other innovative designs such as Enigma.

Few people imagine that Amazon Express is a luxurious yacht and more often take her for a military ship. Nevertheless her two yellow masts and the blue color of some windows betray her true nature. Like her design, her installation is atypical too. The few known photographs of her decoration show areas of good taste and modern style.

At lower deck level, the stern can open onto the sea thanks to a retractable staircase (see photos). Next this deck accommodates a part of the crew quarters. Next there are five guest staterooms. We can also find a sauna and a cinema. The following area, going to the forward mast, is hollow and contains two large tenders (more than 30ft) and various toys. An impressive crane puts them into the water (see photos). We could think that the engine room is under the lower deck, in central position and has the particularity to contain just one engine!

The main deck accommodates the other part of the crew quarter which contains the galley (aft), the dining room (to the center) and the main lounge (forward).

The upper deck accommodates the owner's suite with a private lounge and gymnasium (aft), the captain's stateroom (to the center), and the pilothouse (forward).

The large sundeck is completely covered by a roof. Its forward area is enclosed by blue tinted windows. Finally the top of the sundeck's roof accommodates the helipad.

Amazon Express is a yacht apart as a precursor in the conversion field which remains one the best realised - in her explorer style and in her atypical design.
