The third F45 should be launched in a couple of weeks. According to the last rumours she will have a blue hull, and her name could be TV (maybe the successor of an AZ116).

The link seems to be broken, the pictures are removed. We can imagine that these pictures were taken without agreement of the yard. But I agree with you, this new project has some commons points with previous projects from Starkey, but it was not easy to have a good idea of her real profile. I think it is the hull 800.

Nice design, the full white paint is better than the grey bridge deck of Space. Three domes on mast also to differentiate them. No confusion will be possible with a such large name on the sides. Strange choice.

It is reported in the Dutch financial press (www.fd.nl) that Holland's richest family the Brenninkmeijer's has through their investment company Egeria taken a 75% shareholding in Royal van Lent. This deal was struck around one year ago at about the same time that American interests were believed to be interested in acquiring Royal van Lent. The web site www.egeria.nl confirms the shareholding since August 2006.

Look at this beauty. This is a really modern styled yacht from Feadship. A semi-custom build yacht. The first F45 Vantage! I say it looks better that the renderings on the Feadship site. It also looks better than Amels LE series. This is the first from a serial of 3 yachts. All 3 are already sold and the next serial of 3 is already started. I'd say Feadship is back in yacht business under 50m!

Royal Van Lent have launched the first F45. She is called Space and she looks beautiful - I had my doubts about the high bow section on a yacht of this length - but it is not an issue. The best looking modern 45 metre motor yacht built in a long, long time.

Hot news : Feadship has launched a new website! There are presentation of even some old yachts, the oldest one is from 1920. It is not very detailed information and many yachts are missing (Siran and Lady Beatrice are not even mentioned), but perhaps more will be added later on. Look at http://www.feadship.nl

Just goes to show that the information gathered by the Showboats International magazine is not accurate. If there are that many mistakes with Feadship, one wonders what other mistakes there are in their global order list. Many thanks for the correct information on both Feadship yards.

I would guess not - as I recall we have identified most of the new Feadship?s due in the next three years. This would be small for them now and from a designer they have never built for?

Indeed, it's a beautiful yacht. The aft decks seem to be smaller than usually. But the sundeck is useful, and it can be enclosed by a removable roof (like on the Benetti Multiple). You can see the rails on the sides of the sundeck superstructure.

I'm also curious to know more about the tender behind the wheelhouse. Could it be possible that there is a link between this tender and the April Fool's tender taken in picture by Maarten one month ago? A picture is available in this topic : http://www.yachtspotter.com/...

I thank you for the images of April Fool. Her proportions are very fine, as are some of the subtle styling details, e.g., sun deck arch and the rail cut-outs abeam the lounge windows. The port tender looks unusual - perhaps a traditional small cruiser with the windshield removed for clearance? De Voogt has done a lot of these big 200 footers by now and know not to try to enclose too much area on the third deck without more length. The result is very sleek.

Another first class classic from Feadship. She looks even better in the flesh compared to the renderings when she was marketed for sale as Lioness. Let us hope one of the magazines does a feature on her.

I am sorry to disappoint you all, but April Fool (project Lioness) was only christened today and she didn?t saw the daylight. As we respect both the owner and the Royal Van Lent yard we will wait with pictures until she is outside of the shed (which can take more than a month).

Feadship's words about Blue Moon : http://www.feadship.nl/...

Posted by Gil | 03/15/2006 @ 11:15 | Reply

I remember reading somewhere that the Subject had its deck plans published in Feadship's (limited circulation) magazine. It would be nice to see what they look like. As for the photo on your site that shows a small cabin door leading forward from the starbord aft deck, my guess is that it leads to a stairway to the after guest cabins. There may also be another stairway forward of the main salon. I have seen many yacht plans of yachts built in the 1920's and -30's (e.g., Hussar) that have two stairs to the after sleeping cabins, one forward, one aft. Also the 1986 Highlander and 1973 Jardell/Big R, both by De Vries, have this feature.

Posted by Yachtspotter | 03/14/2006 @ 16:30 | Reply

Maarten, I agree. Your theory seems interesting! On the other side of the aft deck there are stairs for going on the upper deck. There are often symmetries on the floorplans, so find stairs on this side is more than possible...

Posted by Maarten | 03/14/2006 @ 16:00 | Reply

On the main aft deck of Lady Beatrice, you can see a exterior door on starboard side of the yacht (see red arrow). Does anyone know what purpose this door has?

It appears to lead into a guest area (a painting hangs on the wall) but it would not make much sense if this door would lead to the Salon... Could this door lead to the stairs to the guestcabins on the lower aft deck? Locationwise this could make sense. If you look at the placement of the lowerdeck portholes, the most logical placement for the downstairs lobby would be almost directly below this door.

If that is the case, then this could be the only Feadship that features a special door for guests to go directly from their cabins to the aft deck, without going through the salon. Any other theories? It's too bad this beautiful Feadship has never been published.

This years edition of The Superyachts shows us a preview of a new Feadship project at Van Lent. She will be 66.75m in lenght, and will be styled inside and out by Munford. Her lines remind me somewhat of the latest Blue Moon, but with several circular windows instead of oval windows of the forward main deck.
